# Why MRCs Exist
MRCs ensure that **every important idea or proposal** goes through community review and open discussion before implementation.
They help to:
* Encourage **transparent collaboration**.
* Prevent duplicate or conflicting efforts.
* Record the evolution of ideas over time.
* Keep focus on what truly benefits the **Morpheus ecosystem and community**.
An MRC can be **anything that brings value** — a new contract design, a mechanism for rewards, an improvement to the website, or even an educational initiative.
